Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action Against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: Nutrition, Food, Security and Livelihood, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Advocacy and Good Governance.
General Responsibilities:
The Logistic Assistant shall assist the Base Logistician in the activities and implementation of the procedures and policies in accordance of the five mandates of logistics department defined in Kit Log which are: The supply chain, storage, fleet, communication & equipment and the security management
1. Supply Chain Management
To centralize and process the Purchase Request through updating the order follow-up form.
Proceed the request by preparing a Release Order or a Purchase Order
Submit for approval the Purchase Order to the Logistician & Administrator & Head of Base.
Perform purchasing of office supplies, equipment, stocks and materials needed by Programs and offices by respecting Action Against Hunger procurement procedures.
Assist the Base Logistician in getting quotations, assessment of equipment and materials.
Organize the delivery of the items by delivery notes and to update the follow up.
2. Storage Management
Assist in physical inventory of stock and assets.
Ensure all the stock cards are current and accurate for all materials in stock in line with stock management procedures (stock reports)
Ensure all the equipment cards and assets labels are accurate and in place.
Respect physical stock management requirements (organization, cleaning, ventilation, protection from external elements, etc.)
Ensure proper identification of items received with the accompanying delivery note, especially with regard to quantity and quality and documented
Ensure all items to be shipped are properly packaged, labeled and organized for rapid dispersal.
Always keep and organize the store in a good, safe and clean condition.
Inform the Logistician of any goods at or near expiration facilitate the replacement on time especially for the medical kits and fire distinguishers.
3. Fleet Management
Collects necessary information weekly through movement plan form and update daily to assess the transportation needs and organization of the fleet movement through proper communication skills.
Reports to the logistician in case of major shortage of vehicles and seek for instruction for the usage of taxi or temporal rental vehicles.
Prepares the movement planning weekly through form collection and compilation in computer and daily update on white board and computer file.
Ensure safe preparation, loading and unloading of vehicles and materials.
Assist in management of travel/accommodation /cargo dispatch.
To serve as a driver for Action Against Hunger upon requested by base logistician by following Action Against Hunger security procedure for the driving vehicles
4. Reporting & Security
Adhere to the Mission Reporting system and submit on time the reports requested
Respect the Security rules of Action Against Hunger and coordinate with the Head of Base for any security issues relating to work
5. Emergency Response
Be able to render service especially in emergency response in case of disasters in the Philippines
CONTRACT PACKAGE

Compensation: based on Action Against Hunger grid and candidate’s previous experience

QUALIFICATIONS: **
Preferrably Engineering or any similar course
Previous experience in the humanitarian is an advantage
Professional and transparent
Team spirit and good communication skills
Organized, ability to quickly integrate and understand working environment.
English is a compulsory working language – spoken, read and writing apart from Filipino
