Job Description & Requirements
The SEO Content Director oversees and ensures smooth coordination among the Intake, Training, Audit/Quality, Content Workflow, and SEO Content Production Divisions. The SEO Content Director is in charge of recruiting and supervising the campaign editorial board, made up of the above mentioned Division Managers, who are tasked to develop and maintain content for online efforts. He/she ensures that the company or department creates powerful content that will help ERI’s customers in generating quality leads, extending brand influence, growing customer base and increasing market share.
Description of Accountabilities:
Develops core infrastructure
• Standardizes performance expectations of entry, junior and senior writers and
• Establishes basic metrics for the Department
• Establishes benchmarks (especially for promotion and salary adjustment)
Sets up the three major divisions required to grow the Department as envisioned by the CEO
• Intake
• Quality/ Audit
• Training
Helps oversee the execution of content quality assurance and production programs
• May provide instruction and direction for productivity and quality optimization
• Establishes Level 1 and Level 2 Writing and Editing
• Merges the former WCD and ACD and oversees cross-training of writers and editors
• Oversees the development of battery testing
• Provides direction for establishing quotas and measures to ensure consistent quality
Approves team efforts, workflows, direction etc. in coordination with the SEO Content Department Manager and Content Workflow Manager
Directs the development of documents, instructional videos, and other training materials for new employees and to up-skill tenured employees based on training needs analysis results
Helps provide resources to ensure good team morale
• Encourages feedback/ has one-on-one conversations with writers and editors based
• Provides support for incentives plans/measures recommended by the SEO Content
Conducts final interviews for all Content Department applicants and makes employee hiring recommendations to the CEO
Terminates trainees and other department staff as needed
Steps in to take on the functions of Division Managers as needed, i.e., Intake Manager, Training Manager, and/or Quality/Audit Manager
Gives the general directives needed for the department
Requirements:
• University degree in Communication, English, Journalism, Literature, or related work experience
• Managerial and Editorial experience
• 5+ years of related experience working with content intended
• for a US/UK/Canadian/Australian audience preferred
• 7+ years of Department/Team Management preferred
• 2+ years of experience working with U.S.-based companies or onsite in the United States preferred
• Industry exposure SEO industry, related industries required
