Job Description / Requirements
People in Need (PIN), in close cooperation with three national partner organizations: ANGOC, Kaisahan and Balaod Mindanaw, will implement an EU-funded programme focused on land issues and support to human rights defenders. The programme aims to a) provide support and capacity building to human rights defenders in three Philippine regions to effectively monitor, document and/or address land and related human rights abuses, conduct relevant advocacy activities; and b) engage relevant stakeholders in policy dialogue aiming to influence the policy and legal environment towards enhanced land rights claim-making and protection of HRDs working on land rights. The 2-years programme is implemented in 3 regions: Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao.
JOB OVERVIEW
Main role of Project Coordinator is to ensure overall management and implementation of the land issues EU-funded programme and coordination with partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
• Responsible for implementation of the programme aiming at achieving the project results and fulfilling the contractual obligations;
• Prepares realistic workplans and establish clear follow up systems;
• Ensures day to day implementation of project activities according to the project proposal on time and on and on budget;
• Ensures proper M&E and data collection and conducts regular monitoring in the field;
• Provides inputs to internal and donor’s reports;
• Continuous improvement of the programme’s quality and its relevance, collection and dissemination of lessons learned and building of programme’s memory;
• Works closely with implementing partners and provide them continuous support and consultation as needed;
• Representation of PIN and the programme at relevant regional and national meetings and towards all relevant stakeholders;
• Prepare press releases, social media and websites updates;
• Organizes project related events and ensures media‘s presence;
• Ensures widespread distribution of PIN research papers, studies, evaluations etc.
• Ensures compliance with all given guidelines and procedures, both internal (PIN’s) and those of other donors;
• Ensures that requested administrative outputs are done properly and archived;
• Plans and supervises of project logistics (especially transportation);
• Direct supervision of Project Assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS
– A graduate degree in development, human rights, social sciences or a related field;
– At least 3 years of project management, in NGO preferably
– Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills;
– Results-based management and leadership capabilities;
– Ability and willingness to travel extensively;
– Proficiency in English and computer literacy;
– Knowledge of the geographical area and local language is an advantage.
PIN OFFERS
– Responsible and independent position for 24 months in participatory and results-oriented working environment with opportunities for professional development;
– Remuneration: salary range according to level of candidate´s experience 50 000 – 65 000 PHP per month;
– Financial bonuses based on performance;
– Annual leave of 15 days (plus public holidays) per year.
