Legal Manager – JTI – Manila

Position Purpose:
Legal Manager will be responsible for providing full legal advice and supports to JTI Cambodia market with respect to all aspects of doing day-to-day business in order to achieve the company’s mission and targets in Cambodia by ensuring that JTI business and performance goals are compliant and achieved in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Position Description:
Review the legal risks and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures;
Provide legal advice by reviewing on legal contracts or any documents;
Negotiate, review and draft documentations for business transactions, prepare and advise on the necessary checklist to be adopted to ensure information is submitted on time;
Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities;
Provide legal support to various departments, in particular to Sales Department regarding relations with distributors and retailers;
Implement corporate compliance policies, governance, processes and controls;
Provide legal protection and compliance risk assessment and interpret legal information;
Conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staffs;
Ensure that the internal policies are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements;
Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers;
Prepare the board and committee meeting logistics & packs and follow-up action of all board and committee by facilitating board communications;
Assist HR on investigating, reporting and managing concerns of misconduct (including concerns raise on Your Voice System), draft investigation report and submit to management for review and action; and
Other tasks as assigned by Head of Department.

Desired skills and experience:
University degree in Laws;
At least 3 years working experience in legal function with a multinational corporation and being a Lawyer is an advantage;
Excellent written and spoken English, PC literate;
Committed, resulted-oriented, ability to work independently and well handle pressure under fast-paced working environment;
Excellent Knowledge in Commercial Law, Labor Law, Litigation, Compliance & Anti-illicit Trade, Regulatory Affairs, and Taxation Law.
