Job Description / Requirements
The HR Officer is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring as well as policy implementation and compliance with employment laws and regulations for the European International School (EIS) Manila and its departments the German European School Manila (GESM) and the Lycee Francais de Manille (LFM).
The HR Officer reports directly to the Administrators of EIS (GESM/LFM) and provides services in HR related matters to staff, teachers as well as contractual employees. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner ensures employee motivation and satisfaction and contributes to an overall high quality working environment and excellent academic services.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Employee Management
Preparing job descriptions, preparing and posting of job adverts, preparation application forms and tests, shortlisting, interviewing and supporting in selection of candidates
Preparing, updating of contracts and job description
201 file and other personnel records management
Main contact for legal counsel and legal proceedings for employee related issues
Communicating with all employees on HR related tasks
Evaluation & Compensation
Preparing employee evaluation forms and procedures
Assisting in employee evaluations
Regular salary and benefits review and adjustment recommendations
Preparing and implementing of disciplinary actions
Advising School management on general issues of employee safety, security and welfare
Training & Development
Identifying of staff development needs
Planning and organizing of staff development activities
Developing and implementing of policies and handbooks (e.g. on employee conduct, working conditions, performance management, disciplinary procedures, etc. )
Strategy & Legal compliance
Advising school management on local employment law and regulations
Assisting School Management in strategic planning of HR areas
Ensuring compliance with all local labour laws and regulations at school
Knowledge and Skills
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Philippine Labor Law and regulations
HR rules and regulations for private schools
General recruitment process and contract preparation
Payroll preparation and employee benefits
Employee evaluation
HR handbook and policy regulations and preparation
Strategic planning skills and knowledge on staff/organization development
Excellent communication skills with local and foreign employees
Excellent English skills (German or French language skills are of advantage too)
Excellent in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
