Global Assurance Senior – Plan

The Opportunity We are recruiting for a Global Assurance Senior with the following key responsibilities: • Conducts assurance assignments in line with the standards for professional practice for internal auditing and GA charter • Ensures that assignments are completed on time and budget • Produce reports and completed working papers in line with GA quality standards • Provide practical recommendations during assignments on how to improve systems, processes, policies and controls • Builds and develops effective relationships with management at country, regional and national office level • Liaises with local networks of technical specialists and other relevant professional bodies to build their knowledge of auditing and the operating environment • Manages less experienced GA staff and secondees on individual staff on assurance assignments

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives: • Demonstrable knowledge of principles of auditing and risk management • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English • Strong analytical skills • Good interpersonal skills – ability to work with a diverse range of people in a multicultural environment • Strong team leader– ability to work with people from different backgrounds within and outside the department to deliver assurance assignments • Good planning and Organisation skills – ability to deliver assignments on time with tight deadlines and within budget • Adaptability to change – adapts well to different contexts and situations and adjusts approach to assurance as necessary • Self driven and works under minimum supervision • Sound judgement and decision-making in complex situations • Team leader and player within GA and across the region

Minimum Qualifications: • Preferably a CPA, CIA or CFE • Preferably with relevant experience in operations, financial and internal audit from non-governmental organizations or auditing firms • Excellent report-writing skills • Computer literate; well-versed in Microsoft Office applications • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, with demonstrated experience in managing a team • Flexible in time management • Willing to spend at least 60% of the time on travel to project areas /country offices
