ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a ship owner and third party ship manager with worldwide offices and they are now looking to invest and develop their services offering from their office in the Philippines.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
To be shortlisted for this vacancy, the candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, preferably shipping related or demonstrate previous experience of an equivalent standard and have a COC Class 1 Chief Engineer certificate. Ideally, the candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience as Technical Head or Fleet Manager and have at least 10 years’ experience working on shipboard on an ocean-going vessel, preferably both Container and Tanker vessels and with understanding on the Direct Vessel Expense (DVE). Container vessel experience is a must in order to be shortlisted for this role.

Your soft skills should include a positive attitude with good interpersonal and management skills as well as a proven track with customer relationship management.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The General Manager will be required to lead in the management of the company as well as have the responsibility of managing financial and physical resources and ensure all business goals and objectives are achieved.

The main job responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
– Responsible for managing team who work within the Fleet Management.
– Ensures that all managed vessels are upkeep and safe, meets statutory standards and Principal agreed requirements.
– Responsible for the effective vessel inspections and preparation of audits reports for inspection.
– Responsible for the preparation of regular reports for Directors of clients regarding vessel operations.
– Responsible for setting up the procedure and implement the management of the fleet.
