Job Description
As a Customs Classification professional, you will be assisting multinational clients with the “foundation” of the import process, customs classification. Specifically you will be working with the clients, and multiple data sources to determine what the appropriate Harmonized Tariff System Numeric Identifier/Number is.

You will be part of a new pwc service offering that is creating a global/centralized outsource center in Manila to help companies from around the world to more efficiently meet their Customs Compliance Requirements. This team will work with pwc professionals from around the world to provide both “outsource and project based” customs services to pwc clients.
The challenges you will face will change continually, and the solutions you devise will be critical to the success of the client service team. In order to succeed, you need to be creative and analytical; dynamic and collaborative; a strategic thinker and possess a consistent passion to learn.
Your job will require you to be very comfortable with computers as most of your work will be done using Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Access. Additionally you will spend a material amount of time doing product specific research via the client websites, e-tools and general internet searches.
Your ability to work both alone and as a part of a team will be vital to your success in this position. While much of the work is done “individually” at a computer, you will need to interact, collaborate and share with your team members to truly excel.
This position will require you to; demonstrate creative thinking, flexibility and individual initiative. Work effectively as a team member: understand your personal role as well as the team’s role, be flexible in prioritizing and completing tasks; as well as quickly and clearly communicate potential conflicts to your supervisor(s).
Your ability to contribute to a positive work environment and build solid lasting relationships with the rest of the team will be a key factor in the team’s success.
Your ability to focus on team client and firm will be a key factor in the success of pwc’s customs services outsourcing center.

Position/Job Requirements:
Four year college degree: Engineering, Pharma, BioChem, and Chemistry. Typically our most successful candidates come from programs that encourage technical/critical reading and writing skills. FRESH GRADUATES are encouraged to apply.

Language Proficiency:
English (required): Much of the work done by this team will be for North American multinationals, as such, not only are client communications handled in English, but also most of the resource materials will be in English.
Secondary Languages: There will be some work done for various markets including: German, French, China, Korea, Thailand, various Spanish speaking countries. As such, language skills in these areas are also of value to the classification team.

Travel:
The ability to travel is required. While most of the work will be conducted from the office, there may be client projects that will require travel outside of the Philippines.

Other Valuable Experience/Knowledge:
This team will do a lot of work with automotive parts, chemicals, manufacturing equipment and electronics, as such: past experience with these goods whether as a hobby, previous job, family business etc, will be beneficial to the candidate and the team.
