Job Details: JOB DESCRIPTION:
Will provide IT support at Owens Asia, Inc. in Clark Freeport Zone.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time which may include the following:
Handling internal and external technical support for OwensBPO and our clients via a support ticket system.
Maintaining IT services and hardware in the company facility.
Proactively working with the business to provide cost effective, innovative IT solutions to address business/process bottlenecks, and liaising directly with third party vendors.
Work with the IT Manager on the provision and acquisition of IT services.
Maintain corporate IT policies and procedures at the location level.
Manage the needs of our parent company in the US remotely.
Database Administration
Administer all databases within the company.
Perform regular database maintenance and upgrades, implement database monitoring and resolve issues to ensure database performance meets service level targets and client expectations.
Design, implement and regularly test database back-up recovery plans and procedures.
Software Systems
Work with the development team to deploy and configure regular software updates to our websites and internal systems.
Work with the QA team so their needs are met when testing systems prior to release.
Perform software builds when required prior to deployment of new software versions.
Produce a repository of documentation for all procedures handled by IT, and liaise with all parties to obtain this information when the situation requires it.
Systems Administration
Administer all Mac, Linux and Windows server hardware, virtual environments, remote systems, VPN configuration and software systems.
Perform regular server hardware/software maintenance and upgrades, implement server performance monitoring tools and resolve issues to ensure that server hardware and software performance meet service level targets.
Be comfortable working in the Linux and Mac terminal/console, and have a comprehensive knowledge of the commands available.
Use best practices for security on Linux and Mac systems when working in the terminal/console.
Network Administration
Administer all network hardware and software systems within the company.
Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades, implement network performance monitoring tools and do the necessary actions when there are issues to ensure that network performance meet service level targets.
Service Desk
Ensure efficient and timely resolution (isolation and analysis, management and coordination, 3rd party escalation, etc.) of problems and outages.
Ensure service requests are provisioned within expected turnaround times.
Ensure accurate time accounting is done for each task completed.
Security
Perform regular penetration testing on all Internet-facing servers and equipment, and liaise with management, development and QA if their assistance is required to correct any issues.
Perform PCI Compliance scans to ensure our servers comply with the required PCI-DSS standards, and liaise with management, development and QA if their assistance is required to correct any issues.
Ensure that company’s systems are logically and physically sound to withstand security threats.
Monitor and audit security breaches and take corrective actions to fix vulnerabilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to communicate effectively with the IT Manager and his superiors in any scenario.
Must be proactive in finding problems and solutions on a daily basis.
Must have the flexibility to adapt to rotating work shift.
At least one year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
At least one year of hands-on systems administration experience in handling a Linux-based environment.
At least one year of hands-on database administration experience, preferably in a MySQL environment.
Experience with Apple computers an advantage but not required.
