We are urgently in need of a Media Monitoring and Reporting Assistant
Job Description:
The Media Monitoring and Reporting Assistant will report directly to the Media Monitoring and Reporting Manager and will be responsible for:
• Daily monitoring of print publications and online sites.
• Compiling and summarizing of monitored news/articles into concise reports on clients’ media coverage, as well as industry and competition.
• Supporting the practice teams through evaluation of accounts’ media coverage.
Duties:
• To monitor local/regional broadsheets and tabloids, selected magazines, online news portals, and broadcast media in search for Agency-generated articles and other news items relevant to CID clients’ business and industry.
• To scan and compile news clippings and keep them in a central location so they can be easily accessed as needed.
• To liaise with practice teams to produce the daily media monitoring reports to be sent to Account Handlers or directly to clients.
• To aid the Media Monitoring & Reporting Manager in crafting detailed weekly and monthly report summaries.
• To keep abreast of news trends and current issues, sharing insights to the team, and helping identify business opportunities for CID.
• Other research/operational functions as required.
Qualifications:
• Must show propensity for spotting emerging trends across various industries and gauging relative ‘news value’ of stories.
• Should display notable proficiency for research and writing.
• Ideally with a degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing and related field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Media Monitoring experience is definitely an advantage.
• Required to be proactive, patient and to be a fast reader.
• Must have wide scope of interests ranging from lifestyle to business and even politics.
• Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.
• Expected to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks/priorities without overlooking the finer details.
• Must be punctual and able to observe office hours of 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily, Monday to Friday.
• Must be a team player.
