Key Responsibilities
•Buyer performs day to day end-to-end purchasing and logistics related activites to ensure safe and timely delivery of items ordered by the vessel/rig at lowest possible landed cost with due consideration to the criticality of the item
•Proactively identify wastes and implement business process improvements by using PEX Methodologies of continuous improvements.
•Maintain and further develop positive performance driven relationships between key stakeholders and the department.
•Continuously improve service quality and productivity levels. Proactively share best practices across the teams
•Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure availability of items and ensure smooth operation onboard the vessel / rigs.
•Proactively and independently identify possible process and logistical optimization whilst keeping a vigilant eye on the overall process flow.
•Compliance to global standards as per UN Global compact
•Ensure selection of best mode of transport offer through careful analysis of forwarder quotations in consideration of purchase priority, product availability, key ports, trading pattern, incoterms, currency trade.
•Identify opportunities of optimising the warehouse process
Who we are looking for
•4 years forwarding/purchasing experience from a multinational company
•Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
•With working experience in supply chain management
•Analytical and is keen to process improvements
