Job Description / Requirements
The German European School Manila (GESM) is part the European International School (EIS / Eurocampus) and is the best and first choice for German speaking families as well as for families with a pronounced interest in excellent international education.
The accounting department of GESM provides the necessary professional financial services at school to ensure an excellent academic environment for its students, teachers and parents.

The Chief Accountant directly reports to the Director of Administration & Finance and, among others, his/her responsibilities will cover the following areas:
• Ensures proper order to maintain, review and update the book of accounts for GESM and its departments according to accepted accounting practices.
• Ensures timely payment of government payments and compliance with local financial regulations
• Controls the proper preparation and booking of all financial transactions at school
• Provides financial statements, reports and other documents needed for decision making and budgetary matters. Analyses costs, cash flow and other financially related data in detail for these matters.
• Responsible for the preparation of the yearly financial reports and main contact point for the external auditors
• Coordinates and corresponds with accountants of other school related entities
• Acts as payroll officer for GESM and prepares semi-monthly and/or monthly payroll accounts together
• Ensures the GESM compliance of procedures pertaining to staff income, SSS, Phil-Health, Pag-Ibig and others
• Oversees Inventory of all school materials and equipment
• Recommends and formulates financial policies to be approved by the administrator or board of directors for the improvement of the school
• Monitors, coordinates and ensures the proper implementation of financial policies.
• Manages 2 accounting staff and is responsible for their training, evaluation, etc.
• Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• CPA with at least 5 years work experience, preferably in a NGO or school environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, German language skills are an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and intercultural skills
• Management experience
• Profound knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Peachtree Accounting Software
• Can work independently and has the correct work attitude towards the objectives of an International School
